SheaTruth: Organic Raw Skin & Hair Food

Sitting here in my living room, in the beautiful English country side of Kent (the food basket of the UK), listening to beautiful Esperanza Spalding singing at a Jazz festival and saying that ‘’Jazz is nothing but Soul’’, brings my mind to an online company I recently discovered called SheaTruth. This gem of a company hand makes organic, all-natural, vegan, chemical-free Raw Skin and Hair Food! Yes, Soul Food for the Skin and Hair!
Their Skin and Hair Food are actually made with organic food ingredients like unrefined cocoa butter – yummy!!! And it’s real cocoa butter, not an extract, so you get to smell real cocoa butter used to make chocolate. How indulgent is that?! I feel like dancing now, just thinking about it! Authentic Luxury!
So, I used their Calendula and Rose Otto Dry Skin Food (£20.99; $33.92), and I must say, it calmed my dry itchy legs only seconds after applying it—beyond moisturizing! OMG! This baby is made without water, too! Did you get that? They do not use water at all in all their moisturizers – no aqua!  They also do not use synthetic chemicals, animal by-products, waxes, silicones, or synthetic fragrances at all!! Absolutely No Nasties ! And because these are not diluted, you get the concentrated goodness of Mother Nature, so a little goes a long way!
Here are some of the über nutrient-rich ingredients in their moisturizers – unrefined shea butter, Bulgarian rose otto essential oil (Oh heaven!), calendula oil, unrefined cocoa butter, cold-pressed coconut oil, evening primrose oil, rosemary essential oil, oregano essential oil, lavender essential oil, etc. And all ingredients are Soil Association Organic! Now, for those who aren’t familiar with the soil association organic standards, let’s just say they are, arguably, the strictest organic standard on earth today. They define ‘Organic’ from the soil, to the seed, to the processing – end to end!
Did I also mention that this gem of a company makes soaps the traditional way—cold-processed? Their soaps mature, like fine wine, for months before they are sold! It’s like gourmet personal care, wouldn’t you agree?
I used their Chocolate Anti-oxidant Soap (£7.50; $12.12) and did not want to leave the shower room. OMG!!! It was like I had brewed a cup of the most indulgent hot chocolate!!! And it was non-stripping. I felt clean and fresh! This soap is made with unrefined cocoa butter, too–yes, the same one found in chocolate that melts in your mouth! The one that makes the chocolate solid—yes, that Cocoa Butter. 🙂 They also use shea butter and cocoa powder in this soap! The best part is that they don’t add additives or synthetic Fragrances. A friend of mine says she hides this soap from her husband , bless him, because she dedicates it to her face and has seen results in calming her acne. I suppose the anti-oxidants in the cocoa butter and cocoa powder might be responsible for this.
